Bergen Salsaklubb started in the spring of 1998 as a voluntary organization and is still run by volunteers. We have had dance nights for 26 years, almost every Thursday. The club has, in all these years, been a gathering place for people who love to dance in Bergen.

An average of 60-70 people come every Thursday evening. We started with salsa, and when bachata became more popular, we included it in the DJ lists. Now we also play some kizomba.

The bergen mambo weekend

Bergen Mambo Weekend is a newly established salsa festival in Bergen. The 1. edition was held in March 12.-14 2026 at the conveniently placed Scandic Bergen City hotel, right in the heart of world heritage city Bergen in Norway.

Our strength lies in being a small festival, and therefore creating a special, intimate atmosphere that you cannot find anywhere else. Furthermore, we believe that social dancing is the heart and soul of Salsa, so we make it the center of our festival - you can dance socially both in the afternoons and evenings! All artists are hand-picked, known for their love for social dancing (just like us!). 

Dancers and DJs at Bergen Mambo Weekend are a mix of international artists, both well established performers and new, rising stars from all around Europe. For one weekend, dancers like AK Mambo, Dimitris & Yolena, Alexis & Iselin and DJs like Dmitris and Sezar bring their passion from Greece, Norway, Sweden, The UK and more to Bergen for a weekend of like-minded people sharing a passion for Salsa. We exclusively offer courses of Salsa On2 / Mambo for you to deep dive into one of the greatest styles of Salsa. Classes from intermediate level and upwards in two parallel course tracks allow you to take your dancing to the next level.
